The going on of us!

Well life is good with the Linde family, just tired! The baby is now 17 weeks old and Christy's tummy is growing. We are settling well into our place in Quesnel and we love our house.

We are excited to have another child and we are looking forward to upgrading to a bigger vehicle.

We don't have any snow on the ground yet, but we did have a dusting a couple weeks ago.
Here are some pictures!

Trick or Treat!

So the kids are settling nicely into our new house. I guess I should mention, we have a new house! Just as I was getting depressed that we would never find a place this house worked out. Wes had fallen in love with it, but I felt it was overpriced, so we looked at some other houses and some rentals and nothing was suitable! Finally we decided to just go ahead and offer low on this one and after a couple of hours of negotiating, the house was ours! God provided it for us just on time. We were able to move out of our townhouse and move into this one the next day. Perfect timing!

Wes took the kids out trick or treating to a few houses. Jay was a penguin and Emily was a lion. She perfected her roar and Jay waddled from house to house. After the trick or treating Wes had a bonfire with the youth complete with fireworks.

SOLD!!!

As of Wednesday our house was officially sold! The closing dates are in two weeks so this means we can look for a house as soon as we get to Quesnel. I know that God will take care of that too as our house here sold when no other 3 bedroom had sold in our complex since we bought this one, and there have been many to sit on the market. We're pretty much all packed up and ready to go. Jay is pretty excited about a big truck coming to our house to take his toys to Quesnel. He was nervous about moving until he realized his toys were coming. He's already designated which ones will go in the truck and which ones he'll bring in the "green car". He totally understands that we are moving and he's pretty excited about it.

Here's some pictures from the week Wes was in Quesnel and I stayed with my mum and dad. (From my new camera Wes surprised me with for my birthday. He got a whole bunch of people to collaborate on it.)

On the move.....

We're on the move once again. This time we're heading North to Quesnel. Wes started his job on Monday, but is coming home on Friday for a couple of family weddings and then we're all going back together on September 16th. These past couple of months have been stressful and we're glad to be heading into a routine and a normal life again. So far Wes is loving Quesnel. I guess he's really a country boy at heart (except for the music of which he's definitely not a fan). He's enjoying the slower pace and the lack of traffic which is in stark contrast to the lower mainland. It's a very different place than we've ever lived before but we both have peace that this is where God wants us.

A couple of things to pray for....pray we sell our house in Cloverdale. The market is slow right now for several reasons, but our realtor says we're getting more action than her other properties. Along with that we need to find a house in Quesnel. A family in the church has a one bedroom suite that we can stay in until we have a house to go into, so we won't be living on the street when we get there, (which is good, as it's probably going to be COLD).

I'll write soon with some pictures and a kid update!

STOP! and look at me!

Project: "Snack"

Last night Jayson and I had a chat before bed. Here's how it went...

"Daddy, my tummy's growling" Jayson asked, "Can I have a snack?"
"Are you hungry?" I asked.
"Mmmhmmm..." Jayson replied.
"Did you know that some little boys and girls don't ever get a snack?"
Jayson's lip pouted as he started to realize what I was saying.
"They will get a snack from the Church!" Jayson said in an excited tone.
"But what if they don't have a church?"
"They can get a snack from the kitchen!"
I said, "But who will give them their snack?"
"Their Daddy can give them a snack!"
"But what if their daddy can't afford giving them a snack?"
"Then... their Mama will give them a snack!"
"But what if their mama can't afford it either?" I asked.
"Then they will go to the store to get a snack!"
"But what if they just don't have money to buy the snack?"
Jayson pouted again and got a really worried look on his face.
"They have growling tummys" Jayson replied.
Then I said, "They always have growling tummys. They never get snack."
Again Jayson pouted and looked really sad... so, I decided that I probably got the point accross.
"But do you know what we can do Jayson? We can help those boys and girls get snacks"
In which Jayson replied... "We can give them a snack and some JUICE!"
"I think Daddy's going to pray and look into getting us to do this. Do you want to help give other kids a snack?"
"yeah, we will give them juice and a snack!" Jayson replied. "Then they will be happy and their tummys will stop growling!"

I went on to explain how giving up some of his old toys would also help make some little boys and girls happy. The older I get, the more I hate this world and how materialistic it is. It's so weird though, because my generation is caught in the middle of it. May it never be that our kids value the things in this world too much. May they be thankful and not hoarding, have gratitude and not spoiled like the generations before them. This is a lifestyle change for our family, I know. But you have to start somewhere. (just don't get me started with recycling and land fills)

more stories to come...

2 New Additions to the Family

And no, we aren't announcing the arrival of twins. Jay and Emily are getting a new uncle and a new auntie late this summer! Here we are picking up Uncle Rob's new fiance at the airport, freshly flown in from Brazil.

Upon arrival she decided my brother needed a haircut....

Congrats to Rob and Karin, and to Teri and Jonathan too!

We are now true residents of Cloverdale having participated in our first Cloverdale rodeo. We went to the fair last night and the parade this morning. Jay had a great time on the little rides and Emily was frustrated that she wasn't old enough to ride on anything. However, one friendly ride operator let Emily ride on Wes' knee, so she was a happy girl.

Here's Emily cuddling with Papa Linde a couple of weeks ago.

Jay's starting to ask questions about God. He always says that God made him and made Mama and Daddy and Emily. Today his burning question was, "Did God make treehouse?" Wes said that he did in a sort of round about way.

I guess this is all a little random, but it's my first shot at this blogging thing!

I said SCIENCE again!

We went to science world on Monday. It was a lot of fun and Jayson keeps on asking to go back! Here is a video that Christy took the other day.

On another note. Sophie is no more. She got really sick this week and the vet even suggested that we put her down. We are really sad for Jayson who loved her so much.

Canucks put out the Flames!

Christy and I had the chance to go to a Canucks game with a couple from our church that are season ticket holders. We thought it was really cool until we found out it was section 114, row 1, seat 1, and then we were ecstatic!
It was great to see the Canucks pull out of the slump they were in too. 6-2 win over Calgary. It was Christy's first time seeing a game and she said she likes hockey more now that she's seen it live.

Teri and Jonathan babysat and got our kids down no sweat.

We loved the night, and we thank Dan and Sue for the opportunity of a lifetime!

We spent a lot of the day outside today, Jayson loved helping daddy wash the car and splash in the puddles. Emily liked exploring in our back yard too.

Here is a video from Dinner... mmm... squash soup!

Petrolium Jelly

Well, our little son had some adventures last night. He did not want to go down to bed, and when he got quiet we thought that he was asleep. But then, we heard the tap running so Christy ran up there and found Jayson in the sink. He was trying to rinse himself off from getting into the Vaseline. hmmm.... water.... vaseline.... clean? no. MESS!
